Before there was a range, there was a pharmacy, and a chemist who wanted to help parents with colicky babies.

It started with Basil Bennett, a chemist, and the colic remedy he first made for the families he served. It brought relief to tired parents right across South Africa.

He traded as Bennetts the Chemists, and the very first Bennetts products were made right there in the pharmacy.

Our Bum Crème began in a plain glass jar with a hand-written label. The jar has changed since then. The care that goes into it hasn’t.

From one remedy to a family of care.
Basil’s sons built a full baby-care range to carry on their father’s care, and it’s been part of South African homes for about 35 years.

Carrying on their father’s legacy, his sons Morris and David Bennett create products to care for mom and baby through the early years.

The Bum Buddy wins big
Every parent knows the juggle: one hand on a wriggling baby, the other hunting for the crème and the wipes. So the family designed the Bum Buddy, an all-in-one nappy changer that comes filled with Bennetts Baby Bum Crème and Baby Wipes, each at the flip of a lid. At the Mama Magic Baby Expo it was named Most Innovative Product, and it’s still the one parents tell their friends about.
