Start with a net
A fine net over the cot or pram is one of the simplest ways to keep mozzies off a sleeping baby. Tuck it in well so there are no gaps.
Close up at dusk
Mosquitoes are busiest around dusk and through the night. Close windows and doors at sundown, or use fly screens, and keep baby’s room cool with a fan rather than open windows.
Light, covering clothes
Dress baby in light, breathable clothes that cover arms and legs on summer evenings, so there’s less skin for mozzies to find without baby getting too hot.
A baby-friendly repellent
Our Mozzie Stick is specially formulated for babies and toddlers with citronella, lemongrass and zinziba, and it’s safe to use from birth. Reapply every 4 hours.
Did you know?
Or a quick spray
Mozzie Spray is the same baby-friendly formula in a convenient spray, made for babies and toddlers. It also needs reapplying every 4 hours.
Clear standing water
Mosquitoes breed in still water. Empty buckets, plant saucers and paddling pools, and keep drains clear around the house.
Travelling to a malaria area?
If you’re heading to a malaria area, speak to your doctor or a travel clinic well before you go. They’ll advise you on what’s right for your baby, and see a doctor straight away if baby develops a fever during or after the trip.
Always check with your clinic sister, midwife or doctor if you’re worried.
